Interview Susan Hol
During coming months we will have more information about the participants. Some of them are joining the blog from the beginning! Time to read more about their dreams, favorite artworks and hobby's.
2. What is your favorite material? Or way to work?
3. What other hobbies do you have?
Today Susan Hol will tell you more about herself, by answering some questions.
1. When did you join the blog and why?
On twitter
I saw a post, a retweet from a friend, with the theme of April 2012: You could
rent an apartment in an apartment building with 25 windows. I rented apartment
no. 2 and made a window scene. It was fun! At that moment I didn’t fully understand
the concept of The Difference of 25, but now I do. I join as much as possible.
Sometimes Roos makes it really difficult for me with themes that doesn’t make
me instantly enthusiastic, but I always try and learn a lot from it. What I
really love is the combination of the 25 artworks in one post. All these lovely
artworks! Beautiful!
I always
work with my photo’s. I’m a Dutch fine art photographer and I live in the very
small village Chaugey, France.
I make
photo’s of all kinds of objects from nature and culture, most notably the
seaside, countryside and all kinds of cities, to create unique, outdoor
inspired images. The basis of my photography is meeting: while walking between
trees, buildings, flowers, plants, people and animals, on cultivated land and
squares, in streets and lanes, over mountains, along seas, ravines and under the
sky with big white clouds, I meet my pictures. They wait patiently for me to be
ready to see them. After making pictures I store them for a long time, a sort
of ripe process, like wine. After that I pick en choose the best and often work
on it for a long time to make the image I want.
Some work I
made for The Difference of 25:
I made an e-book. You can find it on my website www.susanholfotografie.nl and download it for free if you fill in your name and e-mail address. It
is in Dutch, so I’m sorry for the ones who cannot understand that! But the main
thing is of course that you can see the images, and maybe you can use (the
often terrible but a bit helpful) translation in Google to understand a bit of
the text. I sell pictures on http://susanhol.werkaandemuur.nl/. You can also like my Facebookpage.
3. What other hobbies do you have?
Art! Nature!
Old stuff in cities (doors, handles, steps, iron things). Everything I meet in
a day. The experiences I have had in my life. And last but not least my work as
a philosopher in the analytic aesthetics.

Theme of April: Butterflies
This week the weather is great in Holland. In the morning you can hear the birds singing and in our garden a lot of butterflies are visiting the first flowers.
I love watching the butterflies dance around. I love the way they move and the way they look, their beautiful wings in bright colours almost if they were painted.
No wonder this month theme is butterflies! On internet you can find a lot of inspiration, but...you can also go outside and search for a real life model!
You can send in your artwork untill the 23th of april. Hope to see you back.

Hi I’m Gerda Simmer-Elzenaar and I’m joining the blog since the start.

Interview Renate Daniels
During coming months we will have more information about the participants. Some of them are joiningthe blog from the beginning! Time to read more about their dreams, favorite artworks and hobby's.
Today Renate will tell you more about herself, by answering some questions.
1. When did you join the blog and why?
I joined in June 2012 after hearing about the blog from a friend. It's a great opportunity to show my work and to link to my website www.renatedaniels.nl. The monthly theme's are often an incentive to make a new illustration that I might normally not have made, or to adapt existing designs. I quite often go on to develop them into greeting cards. You can find them via a link on the news page of my site http://www.renatedaniels. nl/news/
2. What is your favorite material? Or way to work? For example: photographs, drawing with pencil or charcoal, knitting, or painting
My favorite materials are textiles, from fabric to yarn, weaving, sewing, embroidery, knitting and crochet, but for illustrations I like to use pen and Indian Ink, or make cutouts with a scalpel.
3. What other hobbies do you have?
For me, illustration is not just a hobby, but part of my profession, in addition to surface design and styling. My hobbies are crafts, sewing, reading, rowing and speed skating.
4. What inspires you?
Inspiration comes from everyday life, nature, art and textiles. There are patterns, structures, great colours and illustrations everywhere!

Theme of March: Sunflowers
Sunflowers!!! Don't you love the sight of the fields full of yellow sunflowers! A lot of artists were inspired by these big flowers. Van Gogh made several paintings with sunflowers. He made a study of it. First he painted the flowers lying on the ground, later he painted bouquets of sunflowers in a vase. These paintings were made to decorate the guestroom in the house of van Gogh in Arles where Gaugain was supposed to stay. Van Gogh made 4 different paintings but he was only satisfied by 2 to hang on the bedroom wall. Later he painted 3 copies of these paintings. One of them is hanging in The Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam.
You don't have to make a study of the sunflowers as van Gogh did. Only one artwork is enough! Together we will create our own Gallery of Sunflowers! You can even hang it on your bedroom wall. It's up to you!
You can send in your atwork untill the 23th of March.
