Theme 37: Clouds

Welcome to the gallery of The Difference of 25. This month theme is "Clouds". It is the 37th theme of the blog! Some people join every month, some when they have time. This month we have a new participant: Mariëlle from De Koekenbakkers. Mariëlle makes very nice cookies and sells Cookie Cutters in all kind of shapes.

In memoria Sultana

A few weeks ago I received an e-mail of the mother of Sultana with the sad news that her daughter Sultana passed away.

Sultana was a very enthousiastic participant of the blog. Therefore I made a special gallery with a selection of the work she made for The difference of 25.
In this way we will remember her and her love to create beautiful drawings.

Theme of april: Clouds

Welcome to The difference of 25! This is a drawing blog. Every month you will find a new theme on the blog. You can draw, paint sculpture, make pictures, whatever you like as long as it is related to the theme. Everybody can join and send in artwork.
This month I asked Susan Hol as guestblogger. She choose the theme of this month: Clouds!

Susan: April is the month of savage clouds, at least, when the wind becomes stormy. Thick fat white, but also dark and nearly black clouds fly over our heads. But in April you can also see those sheep clouds, or wafer-thin clouds, in short: clouds in all kinds of shapes. Maybe most beautiful are those clouds with silver lining, when the sun shines bright behind a big white fluffy cloud. I love those April clouds! Here’s one thick fat one above a cornfield, a photo I took in Chaugey, where I live. And a nicely shaped cloud above the chimney of the house of our French neighbours. (These two photo’s you can also find in my e-book Tijd voor...)

Thank you very much Susan for this nice theme! I really look forward to see all the new artwork and this time I will be glad to see a lot of clouds! You can send in your artwork until the 23th of April.

Theme 36: Eggs

Welcome to the gallery of eggs!
First of all, thank you all for joining or/and reading the blog. We have a fantastic gallery of eggs and a new participant: BeColorAnd. You can read more of her work on the blog BeColorAnd This time she writes about the creation of her egg artwork.

I know I wrote about Spring time...but today in Holland it's raining cats and dogs. So better stay warm at home and enjoy the gallery of the Difference of 25!

Theme of March: Eggs

Welcome back! Officially the first of March is called the beginning of meteorological Spring. However March brings a lot of unstable weather, for optimists it means the end of Winter! In Spring the flowers start to bloom, animals are coming out of their shelters and the sun is shining brighter! Soon it will be Easter. Easter which celebrates Jesus Christ's resurrection is one of Christianity's most popular holiday. But Easter also has a commercial side and various folk customs and pagan traditions such as Easter eggs and bunnies have become part of the holy holiday.

Eggs are decorated for many centuries. Very expensive eggs were made by Peter Carl Fabergé and his company between 1885 and 1917. The most famous are the ones he made for the Russian Tsars Alexander III and Nicolas II as Easter gifts for their wives and mothers. More info you can find here Wikipedia Faberge egg
That is why the theme of March is eggs! Of course you can decorate your egg with jewels and diamonds but feel free to create your own style! You can draw, paint, sculpture, knit or whatever you like as long as it is an egg! You can send in your artwork untill the 23th of March. Have fun!

Theme 35: Sheep, goat, ram

Happy New Year! Kung Hei Fat Choi!
This means congratulations and wishing you prosperity!
I hope the year of the sheep (goat or ram) brings us all the best!
The sheep is a Yin energy, a symbol of Peace, harmonious co- existence and Tranquility. That is the mood for this year. Here you can read about the year of the sheep: 2015-year-sheep
I am proud to present the gallery of sheep!

Although we had less time to make the artwork, we have a lot of lovely sheeps. Susan was very quick, she sent in her artwork the same day the theme was presented! And Naomi's artwork was just saved in time out of her baby sisters hands. But here they are!
