Theme of October: Falling leaves

Hi there, welcome to the Difference of 25. Due to my new free-lance job I am very busy. This means less time for a lot of things and unfortunately also for this blog which I love to make. Therefor this month theme comes a little bit later as usual, but I hope you find some time to work on it.
I love summer! Especially the temperature and all the flowers that bloom. For me fall is already the beginning of the winter, I feel sad when the leaves start to fall.

This month theme is falling leaves. You can make leaves or make something from leaves, you can paint leaves, whatever you like. And of course they don't have to fall, this is only the name for the theme to have a link to the season fall(ing leaves)...
For me this theme is a real challenge! I am going to try to make it fun! Please join me! You can send in your artwork untill the 23th of October. Hope to see you back.

Theme of September: Fruit

Welcome to the gallery of fruit. As the weather is getting colder we have to stay healthy and eat a lot of fruit! Of course the fruits exhibited here are not eatable. It is great to see all the different types of fruit. We have bananas, apples, pears, strawberries, raspberries and blackberries. Some are painted, drawn, crocheted or digital made.

You can even make fruitcookies or put your mobile in an pear-phonecover. This gallery is by far the most healthy gallery we made! So enjoy and stay tuned.

Theme of September: Fruit

Welcome back to The Difference of 25! I hope you all enjoyed the summer vacation!
After my vacation I've been quite busy in the garden.
As we have different kind of fruit trees and current bushes we had to harvest a lot.
We picked apples, plums, blueberries, raspberries, gooseberries and strawberries, more then we could eat. So we decide to make jam out of it! We made all kind of combinations and I think we can eat jam all winter!

I love the sight of handfuls of fruit in a basket. The picture on the left is one I made in the garden.

This month theme is fruit! Enjoy eating fruit while you are making artwork for the best results! You can send in your artwork until the 23th of September. On the 25th of September you can enjoy the gallery of Fruits! See you soon!

Theme 39: Trees

Welcome to the gallery of trees. In Utrecht the city where I live, a lot of trees are decorated at the moment. The tree trunks are wrapped with yellow, or white-red dotted cloth. It looks very nice. This is all part of the festivities of The Tour de France.
Coming weekend is The Grand depart, and this year the start is from Utrecht.
In our gallery we have a lot of different trees and blossom.

Theme of June: Trees

Hi there, sorry to keep you waiting. In my garden we are also waiting, not for a new theme, but for the lovely fruits to grow in our trees! This month theme is: Trees.
What is growing in your tree?

Of course there is no need to make a fruit tree. You can also make other trees. My father used to say there was no money growing on trees, but in this blog everything is possible!
You can send in your artwork until the 24th of June.

Theme 38: The cuttings of Matisse

Welcome to the gallery of The Difference of 25! I am proud to present you the new gallery with wonderful colourful cuttings inspired by Matisse. I especially like the combinations of the big artworks and the small allover artworks. I was wondering if anyone used a scissors as big as Matisse...

But of course not all the artworks are made of paper cuttings, some are digital made or made with stamps. Thank you all for sending your artwork!

Theme of May: The cuttings of Matisse

Welcome back to The Difference of 25. Sorry to keep you waiting for the new theme but I've been very busy with my work. At the end of April I saw the exhibition "The oasis of Matisse" in het Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam. I saw it together with Anne-Lize, who is also one of the loyal participants of the blog. It was beautiful. The cuttings are overwhelming by size and colour.

When you look closely you can still see the pin holes as he used to pin the cuttings on the wall.
But the most remarkable thing was the enormous scissors he used!
The cuttings of Matisse is this month theme. Of course you can make paper cuttings, but you can also paint, make pictures or use other techniques. Be inspired by Matisse!
